Senior iOS Developer (Swift & SwiftUI) 12-month contract · Hybrid, downtown Toronto (3 days onsite) · T4

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior iOS Developer to join the mobile engineering team at a major fintech in Toronto. In this hybrid role (3 days onsite), you will maintain and enhance existing iOS applications while also building new applications from the ground up, delivering secure, scalable, high-quality mobile experiences for a real-time payments and embedded finance platform that serves millions of users.

You'll help architect and build next-generation financial products, partnering across product, design, and QA to ship exceptional, secure, and high-performing mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the full mobile application lifecycle — concept, design, development, testing, release, and ongoing support
• Build and enhance iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and testable application architecture
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code aligned with engineering best practices
• Partner with cross-functional teams including product, design, and QA to deliver innovative mobile features
• Integrate, manage, and optimize third-party SDKs and libraries
• Ensure strong code quality through documentation, automation, unit testing, and UI testing
• Build robust test coverage using XCTest and UI testing frameworks
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities
• Follow mobile security standards, development best practices, and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in iOS development
• Strong proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Clean Architecture
• Deep experience with architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVC, and modern iOS design principles
• Strong understanding of iOS framework components, app lifecycle management, concurrency, and memory management
• Experience building UI programmatically and working with Apple Human Interface Guidelines
• Solid knowledge of RESTful API integration
• Hands-on experience with Xcode, XCTest, Git, JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Combine framework
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines such as Jenkins
• Exposure to Android development
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments and supporting legacy systems
• Knowledge of mobile app security best practices and compliance standards
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with iOS and mobile development trends
