The Opportunity
Citylink is an IT staffing firm that places senior technology contractors inside some of Canada's largest financial institutions. We have over 1,300 hiring managers across our existing enterprise accounts — most of whom have never been called.
This is a hunting role. You will build pipeline from cold, get decision-makers on the phone, and set meetings that turn into placements. If you need warm leads handed to you, this isn't the right fit. If you like building something from the ground up and want to own the results — keep reading.
From month three, the accounts you've activated get handed to you. You manage them, grow them, and earn commission on everything they generate. The hunter who performs in this role becomes an Account Manager within 12 to 18 months, earning $107,000 to $122,000 OTE.
Your First 18 Months
Month 1 — Learn and Launch: Get up to speed on the accounts, the market, and the contact list. Start outreach immediately. Base salary.
Month 2 — Hunt: Own the outreach. Cold calls, LinkedIn, email sequences — whatever gets the right hiring manager on the phone and in a meeting with the CEO. Base salary.
Month 3+ — Own Accounts: The accounts you've activated are yours. Manage the relationships, bring in requirements, grow the book, earn commission on everything it generates.
Month 12–18 — Get Promoted: Hit your targets. Become an Account Manager at $63,000 base and 15% commission. OTE $107,000–$122,000.
What You'll Do
- Cold call, email, and LinkedIn your way through a list of 1,300+ hiring managers at major enterprise accounts — no one is going to warm them up for you
- Set qualified meetings for the CEO — you do the prospecting, you attend the meeting, you learn how the close works
- Take ownership of activated accounts from month three — manage hiring managers, bring in live requirements, work with the recruiting team to fill them fast
- Grow your book — new hiring managers, new projects, new contractors placed
- Keep everything logged in our CRM the same day — non-negotiable
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years in outbound B2B sales, IT staffing business development, or a role where cold prospecting was your primary job
- You have made cold calls and you are not afraid of them — this is the most important thing on this list
- Organised and disciplined — you run your own pipeline, you follow up on everything, nothing falls through
- Strong communicator — sharp written outreach and credible in a client conversation
- Self-directed — you don't need to be managed, you need to be pointed at the right target
- Financial services or technology sector experience is a plus — not required
Compensation
- Base Salary: $56,000
- Commission: 10% of the revenue your accounts generate — paid monthly. The bigger your book, the more you earn.
- Year 1 OTE (realistic): ~$72,000
- Year 1 OTE (strong): ~$82,000
- Account Manager OTE on promotion: $107,000–$122,000
