Senior DevOps / Security Engineer (Team Lead) — Financial Services Client, GTA | $89/hr T4 | Contract

Our client, a global financial technology company, is hiring a hands-on engineer split evenly between platform/DevOps and information security, with team leadership responsibilities.

DevOps (50%)

• Own and evolve Kubernetes (EKS) infrastructure on AWS, including Terraform IaC
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab)
• Run the observability stack (Prometheus/Grafana) and drive reliability practices

Information Security (50%)

• Lead SOC 2 and PCI-DSS compliance work: control implementation, evidence collection, audit support, and remediation
• Harden cloud infrastructure: IAM least-privilege, secrets management, network segmentation, vulnerability management
• Embed security into CI/CD (scanning, policy-as-code) and incident response

Leadership

• Lead a small engineering team: work direction, reviews, mentoring, and stakeholder communication with security/compliance and audit teams

Requirements

• 7+ years across DevOps/SRE and security engineering, with direct ownership of SOC 2 and PCI-DSS programs (not just "worked in a compliant environment")
• Deep AWS + EKS + Terraform; production CI/CD and observability experience
• Demonstrated team lead experience — named team, named deliverables
• Banking/payments domain a plus
