Senior Quality Automation Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a curious, detail-oriented Automation Engineer skilled in API automation, web automation, and manual mobile testing. You'll join the team and help expand our testing regimen, making sure every corner of the application is thoroughly covered while maintaining responsiveness.

You'll work with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Pytest, Appium, Xcode, Android Studio, TestFlight, Kibana, Jira, Xray, and Jenkins. We believe in evaluating better technologies to continuously improve testing efficiency and coverage — and while we value expertise with these tools, we know that smart QEs are great learners too.

Quality Engineering is an integral part of the product development team, closely involved at every step — from project ideation, through implementation, to final deployment. The development team builds in rapid iterations, and the QE team responds to that pace. You'll work in a cross-functional team of designers, developers, product, and project managers to build automated test cycles for world-class banking products focused on the next generation of workers.

Reports to: Quality Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and API testing for new development
• Create and maintain E2E test automation scripts and run continuous testing using Jenkins and SauceLabs, maintaining a high automation ratio
• Own in-sprint API and web automation testing of scheduled releases and maintain the regression suite
• Create test plans, automation strategies, test cycles, and test cases; assess reports from automated script execution and identify bugs
• Write API automated tests and DB validations using Python in the Pytest framework
• Manage the Jira board from task opening through completion, meeting project deadlines

Qualifications

• 6+ years automating tests for Web (Cypress, Playwright with TypeScript) and APIs
• Experience with Postman and API automation testing using Pytest
• Ability to leverage AI to write code and deliver faster
• Strong grasp of testing methodologies — Functional, Regression, Sanity, Smoke, White box, and Black box
• Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Xray, Confluence)
• Programming experience in Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript
• Experience working closely with software development and product teams in an agile environment
• Solid understanding of source code management and version control (GitHub, SourceTree)
• Familiarity with bug reporting in Jira and defect lifecycle management
• Strong time management; able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, flexible environment
• Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented setting
• Able to prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including dealing with complex or ambiguous situations
• Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines
• Fintech industry experience is an asset

Nice to Have

• Mobile automation with Appium

• Prior experience with payment systems
