Position Title: Business Analyst

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 2 days per week, eventually 4 days/week)

Role Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support enterprise-level Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence initiatives. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical data science teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that complex AI projects within a highly regulated environment are smoothly executed, tracked, and rigorously documented. You will be responsible for managing the artifacts generated during ML development, guiding model validation processes to meet strict governance standards, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation to keep cross-functional teams aligned.

Key Responsibilities

• Structure, track, and manage all necessary artifacts for Machine Learning and AI development lifecycles, ensuring deliverables are audit-ready and meet strict internal governance guidelines.
• Support and rigorously document model validation workflows, acting as the key liaison between data scientists, enterprise risk governance teams, and business sponsors.
• Design, create, and maintain comprehensive Confluence pages to serve as the single source of truth for project scopes, technical requirements, risk assessments, and process workflows.
• Apply project management best practices to coordinate timelines, track deliverables, and keep cross-functional AI initiatives moving forward efficiently within a matrixed organization.
• Utilize JIRA to assist with issue tracking, sprint planning, and backlog grooming in collaboration with technical and project leads.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in model validation documentation is required, alongside practical experience with model validation processes, model risk frameworks, and associated compliance and audit requirements.
• Exceptional documentation and organizational skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical AI/ML concepts into clear, actionable business and regulatory requirements.
• Direct experience documenting and managing artifacts specific to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence development.
• Demonstrated project management experience, capable of driving deliverables and navigating stakeholder expectations across multiple departments.
• Proficiency in building, structuring, and organizing Confluence spaces and pages for enterprise teams.
• Foundational or working knowledge of JIRA for tracking and updating project tickets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailored to bridge the gap between highly technical engineering teams and non-technical business or compliance leaders.
• Nice to have: Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments such as banking, financial services, or similarly highly regulated industries.
