Job Title: Billing & Insurance Authorization Specialist

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Hybrid In-Office - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Lewisville, TX


Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Billing & Insurance Authorization Specialist to support revenue cycle operations by ensuring accurate insurance verification, pre-authorization processing, and compliant billing submission. This role is responsible for coordinating benefits, validating payer requirements, and ensuring all documentation is complete prior to invoicing. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of insurance billing guidelines across government and private payers.


Key Responsibilities


  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and accurately apply coordination of benefits (COB) guidelines
  • Prepare and fax complete and accurate Pre-Authorization Request Letters in accordance with payer requirements
  • Determine expected revenue amounts based on allowable charges, benefit structures, unit pricing, copayments, payer guidelines, and contract terms
  • Submit accurate and timely billing to government programs and private insurance payers, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations
  • Review billing data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to obtain all required documentation necessary for invoicing and reimbursement
  • Follow up on missing, incomplete, or incorrect documentation to prevent billing delays
  • Maintain organized and compliant records to support audits, payer inquiries, and internal reporting
  • Adhere to company policies, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements at all times


Required Qualifications


  • Experience with insurance eligibility verification and coordination of benefits
  • Knowledge of pre-authorization processes and payer documentation requirements
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures, including government and private insurance payers
  • Strong understanding of allowable charges, reimbursement calculations, and contract pricing
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, particularly sales and operations
  • Proficient with basic computer systems and billing or insurance-related software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience in revenue cycle management, billing, or insurance authorization
  • Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, or other government payers
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and payer audits
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
