The Opportunity

Golden Touch Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Custom Cabinet Maker & Architectural Millwork Installer to lead high-end cabinet fabrication and field installations across Southern California.

In this dual shop-and-field technical woodworking role, you will manufacture and install custom kitchen cabinetry, bathroom vanities, garage storage arrays, built-in entertainment centers, and architectural millwork. Working with a premier design-build contractor that originated over 25 years ago as a custom cabinet shop, you will collaborate directly with our in-house design team, work from 3D design software renderings and shop drawings, and utilize premium hardwoods, veneers, and hardware. If you bring a passion for fine woodworking, precision scribe fitting, and custom assembly, Golden Touch Construction provides competitive hourly pay ($25+/hr), steady year-round work, and a supportive team climate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cabinet Fabrication & Bench Assembly: Fabricate, assemble, and detail custom cabinetry components (boxes, face frames, raised panel doors, drawer units) from raw hardwoods, plywoods, and premium veneers using shop machinery and hand tools.
  • Precision Field Installation: Transport, level, plumb, anchor, and scribe-fit custom cabinetry packages, built-ins, and architectural millwork on active residential jobsites.
  • Shop Drawing & Design Execution: Read and interpret 3D CAD design renderings, architectural shop drawings, cut lists, and material specifications to ensure millimeter-accurate fabrication.
  • Hardware & Accessory Integration: Install high-end cabinet hardware—including concealed soft-close hinges, undermount drawer slides, pull-out organizers, and integrated lighting channels.
  • Scribe & Trim Detailing: Cut and install crown molding, light valances, toe kicks, filler strips, and decorative trim to achieve flawless, tight-tolerance wall and ceiling scribes.
  • Quality Assurance & Client Care: Inspect finished installations for smooth drawer/door operation and surface integrity, maintaining clean jobsite protocols and protecting installed assets.
  • Collaboration & Team Support: Partner with in-house designers, project supervisors, and finish painters to ensure seamless transitions from shop fabrication to final field handoff.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

  • Cabinetry & Millwork Experience: Minimum 3 years of verified professional experience in custom cabinet making, shop woodworking, or architectural millwork installation.
  • Fabrication & Tool Mastery: High proficiency operating woodworking equipment (table saws, miter saws, routers, edgebanders, pocket-hole jigs, pneumatic fasteners) and precision hand tools.
  • Blueprint & Shop Drawing Literacy: Ability to read, navigate, and build directly from detailed cabinet shop drawings, CAD plans, cut lists, and dimensional elevations.
  • Physical Endurance & Dexterity: Physical capability to maneuver heavy cabinet boxes (50+ lbs), perform overhead scribe work, and work on active residential job sites.
  • Mobility & Driver Credentials: Valid Driver License with reliable personal transportation to travel to assigned job sites across Southern California.

Preferred

  • Custom Shop Background: Specialized experience with high-end European/frameless cabinet construction, traditional face-frame joinery, or custom spray-finish touchups.
  • Language Capabilities: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Guaranteed Hourly Base Pay: $25.00+ per hour, customized directly to cabinet making mastery and field installation experience.
  • Performance Upside: Direct eligibility for structured project performance bonuses and annual company profit-sharing incentives.
  • Paid Time Off: Earned PTO allocations covering vacation, personal days, and paid company holidays.
  • Career Advancement: Structured pathways into Lead Millwork Installer, Shop Manager, or Field Superintendent roles.
  • Culture & Support: Supportive family-owned work culture, company team events, and in-house design collaboration.
