Responsibilities Include, but are Not Limited to:
- Oversee and manage all field operations on heavy civil construction sites.
- Supervise subcontractors, field crews, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
- Coordinate and implement project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, local laws, union requirements, and project specifications.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and site inspections to enforce OSHA and DOB safety protocols.
- Interface with clients, inspectors, and internal project management to communicate updates and resolve issues.
- Review blueprints, site plans, and project specifications; delegate work accordingly.
- Monitor project budgets, materials, and workforce needs.
- Produce and submit daily job logs and progress reports.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to on-site teams.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a superintendent on heavy civil construction projects.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Strong understanding of NYC construction practices, utility work, excavation, concrete work, grades and elevations in the field.
- Preferred:
- 62-Hour NYC DOB Site Safety Training (SST) card.
- Background in managing union crews and working on government or prevailing wage projects.
- Other Skills & Traits:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
- Familiarity with construction management software and technology.
- Strong time management and organizational capabilities.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
