Job Summary

Our Westwood office is seeking a dynamic Tax Manager to lead our tax professionals and oversee the completion of all client tax returns. This role serves as a key liaison between staff and Partners, maintains strong client rapport, and drives strategic tax planning initiatives to ensure full compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review & Compliance: Review partnership, individual, trust, and multi-state tax returns and projections.
  • Agency Correspondence: Handle federal and state government notifications and assist with audit document gathering.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance, research tax issues, and mentor staff toward professional and internal goals.
  • Client Relations: Attend client meetings with Partners to build and manage ongoing relationships.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (3.0+ GPA preferred); CPA or EA license required.
  • Experience: 7+ years of related tax experience at a public accounting firm or family office, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of tax regulations (Individuals, Corporations, Partnerships, Estates, Trusts) and GAAP. Proficiency with CCH Axcess and MS Office preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, exceptional communication, attention to detail, and a collaborative, professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and see; occasional standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Extended hours may be required during peak tax seasons.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000 (Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location)
