Job Title: Tax Manager


Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a diverse and sophisticated client portfolio. This role is ideal for a tax professional who thrives on complexity, working closely with high-net-worth individuals, closely-held businesses, and intricate entity structures. You will act as a trusted advisor, managing client relationships while mentoring junior staff.

Compensation & Perks

  • Base Salary: [$120,000 – $160,000+] (DOE / Dependent on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Review: Review and sign off on complex federal and state tax returns, including Corporate (C-Corp), S-Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts/Estates, and High-Net-Worth (HNW) individuals.
  • Tax Planning & Advisory: Proactively develop and implement strategic tax planning and wealth preservation strategies for business owners and affluent families.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, translating complex tax codes into clear, actionable business advice.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and review the work of senior and staff accountants, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Research & IRS Representation: Conduct deep technical research on complex tax issues and represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities if needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a sophisticated boutique firm.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of S-Corp taxation, corporate structures, and fiduciary/trust accounting.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Credentials: CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is highly preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with CCH Tax Software (Axcess or ProSystem fx) is preferred; however, proficiency in other enterprise tax applications (e.g., UltraTax, GoSystem) will be fully considered.
