We are a representing a full-service wealth management firm dedicated to helping small business owners and entrepreneurs build, protect, and transfer their wealth. Their Tax & Advisory Services team works alongside financial advisors to deliver integrated, proactive tax strategies that go beyond compliance, helping clients make smarter financial decisions at every stage of their business journey.


Position Overview:

Seeking a skilled and motivated Tax Senior to join our growing Tax & Advisory Services team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of small business clients and entrepreneurs, managing their corporate tax compliance needs while identifying proactive planning opportunities. You will work closely with senior managers and partners, and play a key role in developing junior staff.


Key Responsibilities

Corporate Tax Compliance & Advisory

  • Prepare and review federal and state corporate income tax returns for S-Corps, C-Corps, partnerships, and LLCs across a variety of industries.
  • Manage tax engagements from start to finish, including gathering information, coordinating with clients, and meeting deadlines.
  • Conduct tax research on complex issues and communicate findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities related to entity structure, compensation, retirement planning, and business succession.
  • Assist clients with estimated tax payments, tax projections, and year-end planning strategies.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of small business and entrepreneur clients, building trusted, long-term advisory relationships.
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding tax deadlines, law changes, and planning opportunities relevant to their businesses.
  • Collaborate with the firm's wealth advisors to provide integrated tax and financial planning advice.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, translating complex tax topics into clear, actionable guidance.

Team Development & Collaboration

  • Mentor and supervise Tax Associates and Interns, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to internal training initiatives and stay current on changes in tax law affecting small businesses and entrepreneurs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including financial planning, estate planning, and investment advisory.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license (or actively pursuing — must be on track to complete within 12 months).
  • 3–5 years of public accounting or wealth management tax experience, with a focus on corporate/business tax.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProConnect, UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state corporate tax law, including pass-through entity taxation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters simply.

Preferred

  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and their associated business entities.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms used by small business clients.
  • Exposure to estate and gift tax, trust returns, or individual high-income tax returns is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a wealth management or financial advisory environment.
