Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) - Business Development & Client Advisory
Franklin, Tennessee, United States
Apply for this job

About the Role

We're looking for a sharp, personable CFA charterholder who thrives equally in a spreadsheet and a client conversation. You'll drive new business opportunities, deepen existing relationships, and translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling stories that clients actually want to hear.

What You'll Do

  • Own a portfolio of client relationships — proactively reaching out, not just reacting
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and industry events
  • Lead client meetings and pitches, presenting investment strategies and portfolio performance in plain language
  • Conduct deep financial analysis to support investment recommendations and business proposals
  • Collaborate with internal investment, compliance, and operations teams to deliver seamless client experiences
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline, tracking outreach and opportunities through CRM tools
  • Stay current on market trends and translate them into relevant talking points for clients

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • CFA charterholder (all three levels passed)
  • 5+ years in financial services or investment management
  • Proven track record in business development or client-facing roles
  • Strong grasp of portfolio management, equities, and fixed income
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with HNW or institutional clients
  • Existing book of relationships in the market
  • Comfort with Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or Morningstar
  • Series 65 or 7 license

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

  • You genuinely enjoy talking to people — client calls energize you, they don't drain you
  • You can explain a duration mismatch to a CFO and a retiree, and make both feel understood
  • You're self-motivated and comfortable owning your pipeline without being micromanaged
  • You bring intellectual curiosity to markets and bring that energy into client conversations
  • You're known as someone who follows through

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $120K – $160K
  • Performance bonus
  • Equity available
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • CFA exam and continuing education reimbursement
  • 401(k) with company match
