About the Opportunity

Manta Search is partnering with an established company to find an experienced Senior Accountant for a 90-day contract assignment. This role will support the accounting team through month-end close, reconciliations, and cost accounting activities during a period of increased workload. It’s a great fit for a hands-on accountant who can step in quickly, learn systems fast, and make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Own key pieces of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances
• Support inventory accounting, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods valuation
• Assist with standard costing, cost variance analysis (purchase price, labor, overhead), and COGS reporting
• Review and reconcile fixed assets, capital projects, and depreciation schedules
• Prepare supporting schedules and account analysis for financial statements
• Partner with operations, purchasing, and plant personnel to gather information and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation as requested
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to close and reconciliation workflows
• Support ad hoc projects and reporting requests from the Controller

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA-track a plus
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing or another inventory-heavy environment
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and the full close cycle
• Hands-on experience with inventory and cost accounting
• ERP experience required MS Dynamics; ability to ramp up quickly on new systems
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooks
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working with minimal ramp-up time
• Available to commit to the full 90-day assignment
