Our client is an innovative and expanding online accounting firm seeking a remote Tax Supervisor to join their virtual team. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, hard-working, and technologically proficient, with a passion for supporting entrepreneurial businesses.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare personal and business tax returns for clients across multiple states
• Provide tax planning strategies and expert advice to optimize clients' tax positions
• Complete, review, and analyze tax documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
• Supervise remote tax staff and provide guidance to ensure quality and deadline compliance
• Deliver GAAP and policy support, performance management, and ongoing training and development
• Lead tax engagements and communicate directly with clients throughout the year
• Resolve back tax issues and manage IRS communications as needed
• Lead tax kick-off meetings and client onboarding calls

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA or EA Certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with multiple tax clients
• Proven experience preparing individual and business tax returns
• Strong knowledge of tax planning and multi-state tax issues
• Demonstrated experience supervising a team
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with tax software and ability to develop advanced technical skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ year of remote work experience
• Experience working with service-based business clients
