About the Role
The CAS Accountant provides outsourced accounting support to a portfolio of clients, acting as an extension of their internal accounting function. This role blends day to day bookkeeping and financial reporting with a growing advisory component, helping clients understand their numbers and make better business decisions. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, client interaction, and working across multiple industries.
What You'll Do
- Manage day to day bookkeeping and general ledger accounting for a portfolio of clients.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year end financial statements.
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for clients as needed.
- Maintain and troubleshoot cloud accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online or Xero, along with connected apps.
- Assist clients with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and basic financial analysis.
- Identify trends or issues in client financials and communicate them proactively.
- Support the transition of new clients onto the firm's accounting systems and processes.
- Collaborate with CAS leadership and other departments to ensure a consistent client experience.
- Stay current on accounting standards, software updates, and best practices in cloud accounting.
- Build strong, trust based relationships with client contacts.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2 to 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, public accounting or outsourced accounting experience a plus.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar cloud accounting platforms.
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients.
- Tech savvy and eager to learn new tools and integrations.
- CPA or progress toward CPA a plus, but not required.
