About the Role
The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving sales through the adoption
and expansion of SDI’s solutions within the organ transplant market segment. This role focuses
on building trusted relationships with key decision makers, including transplant surgeons,
coordinators, and hospital executives.
The ideal candidate brings a network of transplant industry contacts and a deep understanding
of transplant program operations, including donor evaluation, organ acceptance, diagnostic
imaging, and post-transplant follow-up. This individual needs to have a background in solution
selling that ideally includes clinical application and physician services.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with transplant surgeons, program directors, coordinators, pathologists, and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the full sales process, from identifying opportunities through proposal, negotiation, contract execution, and implementation kickoff.
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within hospital-based transplant centers and organ procurement organizations (OPOs) across kidney, liver, heart, and lung programs.
- Achieve quarterly and annual quotas and sales objectives.
- Ability to develop and execute on territory plans and accurately forecast new business opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, product, and operations teams to ensure client success and retention.
- Represent SDI at transplant society meetings, hospital conferences, and surgeon roundtables, strengthening visibility within the transplant community.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or clinical liaison roles within the transplant market segment.
- Must have existing, well-established relationships within hospital transplant programs, including transplant surgeons, coordinators, and administrative leaders.
- Organ procurement organization sales experience and contacts are required.
- A strong understanding of donor management, organ recovery, and pre/post- transplant process is required.
- Strong consultative solution-selling skills with the ability to communicate complex clinical and operational value propositions.
- Experience navigating hospital purchasing processes, committees, and transplant governance structures.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or clinical background (RN, PA, MPH, MLS, etc.) preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally to client sites and conferences 50% of the time.

- Experience in clinical SaaS, telehealth, diagnostics, or healthcare AI platforms
- Experience attending and leveraging medical conferences and society meetings for business development
- Strong consultative selling experience in complex clinical environments
- Strong understanding of transplant workflows (donor evaluation, organ recovery, organ acceptance, post-transplant care)
