POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Support Technician provides critical finishing and pack-out support to ensure machined components are clean, defect-free, and ready for shipment. This role is responsible for deburring, part finishing, visual verification, and protective packaging of precision aerospace and industrial components. Working closely with machinists, quality, and shipping, this person helps ensure every part meets customer expectations for appearance, handling, and delivery readiness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform deburring, edge-breaking, and basic hand-finishing of machined aluminum, steel, and titanium parts using appropriate tools and techniques
- Conduct visual and dimensional checks on finished parts prior to packaging, referencing work orders and customer requirements
- Package precision components per customer and internal packaging standards, including protective wrapping, labeling, and documentation
- Accurately complete production travelers, packing lists, and shipping documentation
- Maintain an organized and clean work area consistent with 5S/lean principles
- Stage finished goods and coordinate with shipping/receiving as needed
- Communicate part condition issues or discrepancies to quality or machining personnel
- Support other production functions as directed by shop floor supervision
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or machine shop environment preferred
- Ability to handle precision machined parts with care; understanding of surface finish and cosmetic quality expectations
- Comfortable working with hand tools including files, deburring tools, and basic measurement instruments
- Ability to read work orders, part labels, and basic drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to maintain pace in a production environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience deburring or finishing metal parts (aluminum, steel, stainless, or titanium)
- Familiarity with packaging requirements for aerospace or defense components
- Basic understanding of GD&T or print reading
- Experience in an ISO 9001-certified facility
