About the Role:

Our client is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers to deploy, integrate, and operationalize AI systems in real-world production environments. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, customer deployment, and AI reliability.

You will be the third Forward Deployed Engineer globally, joining teammates in Japan and on the U.S. West Coast. This role supports customers across the U.S. East Coast and Europe, working with 3–4 enterprise customers at a time. You will serve as the technical bridge between customer engineering teams and our client's product and engineering organizations, helping implement AI guardrails, evaluation systems, observability workflows, and deployment architectures that meet enterprise requirements for reliability, security, compliance, and performance. Many customers operate highly regulated environments with complex infrastructure, approval processes, and operational constraints. Success requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, build trusted relationships, and help customers safely bring AI into production.


What You'll Own:

  • Lead deployments of our client's platform into customer environments, including EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, and on-premises Kubernetes clusters
  • Partner directly with customer engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams across networking, identity, storage, observability, scaling, security, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot production and pre-production issues involving Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, databases, authentication, networking, ingress, and application services
  • Build deployment automation, Helm charts, scripts, runbooks, and validation workflows
  • Drive technical discovery, implementation planning, effort estimation, risk assessments, rollout strategies, and production readiness reviews
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to improve deployment patterns, integrations, and customer experience


Requirements:

Must Have:

  • 3–8 years of experience after undergraduate studies in Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or another customer-
  • facing engineering role (1+ year of experience with a relevant master's degree is also considered)
  • Strong hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Infrastructure Engineering or DevOps experience at a startup, technology company, solutions provider, or consulting firm
  • Experience working directly with customer engineering, security, and compliance teams during technical deployments
  • Ability to work East Coast U.S. or UK business hours, including twice-weekly evening collaboration with the India engineering team

Nice to Have:

  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with Generative AI, LLM applications, AI infrastructure, or model deployment
  • Background supporting customers in financial services, healthcare, government, or other regulated industries
  • Experience with identity and access management technologies including OIDC, SAML, Keycloak, Entra ID, or Okta
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation, guardrails, observability, or monitoring platforms
  • Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Implementation Engineer at a high-growth AI infrastructure or AI tooling startup



Compensation:

$150K-$200K
