Job Title: Grants Manager

Summary

C'Ville Capital Partners is excited to partner with the Anne & Gene Worrell Foundation on

their search for a Grants Manager. The Grants Manager oversees the administration of the

Foundation’s grantmaking, including application intake, review coordination, compliance

monitoring, report tracking, and software management, ensuring an efficient process aligned

with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. The Grants Manager will work closely with the

President and the Director of Grantmaking & Partnerships to support the grantmaking

lifecycle.


The position is also responsible for research & analysis on community needs, reporting

on the Foundation’s grantmaking, and managing Catchafire, an online resource tool for

our nonprofit grantees.


The Foundation has a small but mighty team, and the Grants Manager is an integral

part of delivering on the Foundation’s goals. The position requires strong data

management and analysis skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple

projects simultaneously, and a commitment to the regions and issue areas the

Foundation serves.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Grants Administration (80%)

  • Manage the entire grant lifecycle, including application intake, review

coordination, compliance monitoring, and report tracking;

  • Serve as an expert in the Foundation’s grants management system, Giving Data,

including overseeing its administration, refining and enhancing systems and

workflows, data management and reporting, and providing technical assistance

to Foundation staff and partners;

  • With support from the Executive Operations Manager, ensures maintenance of

complete and accurate grantmaking records, to include grant applications,

agreements, reports, budgets, and grantee communication;

  • Monitors, analyzes, and ensures timely and accurate submission of grantee

reports, including programmatic and financial reports;

  • Reviews and completes due diligence processes on submitted grant applications,

including a programmatic and financial review;

  • Prepare and share materials with Grants Committee and Board members in the

grants management system, providing technical assistance when needed;

  • Assist with drafting award letters and grant agreements;
  • Assist with tracking the Foundation’s grantmaking budget, including

consideration for multi-year commitments across different programmatic areas;

  • Provide technical assistance to grant applicants and grantees, including

troubleshooting with the online grant management system, as needed;

  • Provide exemplary customer service to community partners, grantees, applicants,

and key stakeholders, including timely communications, information about

grantmaking programs, and technical assistance.


Impact Analysis (10%)

  • Review and analyze grant records and reports within key areas of interest to

quantify impact and identify opportunities for future grantmaking;

  • Provide support, including the creation of presentation materials, data entry and

analysis, generating reports from the database, and translating data into

meaningful insights for programs under administration.


Community Partnerships (10%)

  • Working with our Foundation partners, help connect nonprofits in our regions to

Catchafire, an online resource tool for our nonprofit grantees.


Additionally, the following are desired qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience);
  • Relevant professional experience in program administration, grants

management, and project management;

  • Experience managing multiple priorities and tasks at any given time,

demonstrating strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work in a

timely manner;

  • Personal qualities of integrity and ultimate discretion regarding confidential

matters

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,

and Teams) and relational database programs, and the aptitude to learn new

programs quickly and support others in their learning and utilization of software

programs;

  • Experience managing a database or information system, including maintaining

data integrity, user permissions, and record structures;

  • Comfort configuring and customizing software systems, including setting up

workflows and automation;

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and adapts to ever-changing conditions and

priorities with calm;

  • A strong customer service orientation, with outstanding communication and

collaboration skills.


Compensation and Benefits

The annual starting salary for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. This is an exempt position.

You will be eligible for Anthem health insurance benefits, a retirement plan, life

insurance, and long-term disability insurance. You will be provided an annual paid time

off (PTO) of four weeks (4) per year (160 hours) to be issued on an accrual schedule with

a carryover policy.

● Greater Charlottesville Area—Funding in this region primarily focuses on

the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, with some support for broader

regional initiatives in the Counties of Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and

● Southwest Virginia – Funding is focused on regional approaches for the Cities

of Bristol and Norton and the Counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Grayson, Lee,

● Surry County – Funding is limited to supporting key initiatives, including

Preserving Natural Assets and Historic Preservation in Surry County.


Grants will primarily be awarded to projects and organizations that address one or more

of the following areas:

● Economic Mobility & Well-Being – We work with partners to sustain and

expand programs and strategies that provide essential services to those

experiencing poverty and create opportunities to increase their economic

mobility.

● Preserving Natural Assets – Recognizing the impacts of expanding

development and a changing climate, this program area focuses on work that

protects ecosystems and provides economic and health benefits for the

communities we serve.

● Family Legacy – Maintaining a sense of place, including what makes each

region unique, was important to Anne and Gene Worrell. In honor of this legacy,

the Foundation dedicates a portion of the grantmaking budget to support select

grantees in historic preservation, arts and culture, and local news.
