Trading Operations Coordinator / Internal Wholesaler

Marine Layer Advisors | Remote (U.S. Market Hours) | 1099 Contractor

About Marine Layer Advisors

Marine Layer Advisors is a structured note platform serving independent RIAs ($100M–$5B AUM). We bring institutional-level derivatives expertise to the advisor market, helping clients access structured products with clarity, precision, and high-touch service.

We’re a fast-growing, 10-person team competing with large platforms like iCapital and CAIS — and winning by delivering better service, deeper expertise, and stronger relationships.

The Role

We are looking for a Trading Operations Coordinator / Internal Wholesaler to own the end-to-end structured note trading process while supporting our external sales team.

This is an operations-first role with exposure to clients, banks, and structured products — with a clear path to grow into external wholesaling or senior operations leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full trade lifecycle: pricing, execution, settlement, and confirmation
  • Coordinate pricing requests across multiple bank issuers (e.g., JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Barclays)
  • Track settlements and reconcile trade confirmations
  • Respond to client inquiries on positions, maturities, and coupon payments
  • Maintain accurate CRM records (Pipedrive) for all trades and interactions
  • Support external wholesalers as their operational backbone
  • Make outbound calls and set meetings during downtime

What Success Looks Like

  • Fast and accurate execution with minimal trade errors
  • Strong responsiveness to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to independently manage trades end-to-end
  • Building trust with both advisors and bank counterparties
  • Supporting increased trade volume and team efficiency

Who You Are

  • 2–5 years of experience in structured products, trading ops, or internal wholesaling
  • Background at firms like AAM, Halo, iCapital, CAIS, Luma, or a bank desk preferred
  • Active Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, preferred
  • Detail-oriented — you catch errors before they happen
  • Highly organized and proactive communicator
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, small team environment
  • Client-first mindset — you go above and beyond

Compensation & Structure

  • Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Compensation tied to trade volume (high upside potential)
  • Remote, must be available during U.S. market hours

Growth Opportunity

  • Transition into External Wholesaler role
  • Advance into Senior Trading Operations leadership
  • Work directly with founders with deep derivatives expertise

Why Join Us

  • High-impact role in a growing firm
  • Direct exposure to structured products and institutional workflows
  • Small team, no bureaucracy — your work matters immediately
  • Opportunity to build relationships and grow your career quickly
