Credit & Collections Specialist

We're looking for a customer-focused Credit & Collections Specialist to the finance team of a rapidly growing Real Estate Investment/Management company. In addition to traditional collections responsibilities, the Specialist will collaborate with and provide guidance to Finance, Property Management and Operations team members, and will help implement new technology, SOP's and best practices within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for collections activities.
  • Research, evaluate, and coordinate new resources and tools to support collection efforts.
  • Prepare and compile documentation for referral to attorneys or collection agencies.
  • Review and validate disputed charges, conduct research, and resolve account discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Investigate and resolve disputes.
  • Review delinquent accounts and recommend write-offs in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage payment agreements and provide regular reporting on progress.
  • Accurately document and report results of collection activities.
  • Develop relationships and regularly collaborate with Finance, Property Management, and Operations teams to support collections objectives.


Required:

At least 2 years of relevant experience in credit, collections, and accounts receivable with excellent communication and negotiation skills. A proactive professional with the desire to implement best practices and be an integral part of process technology and resource improvements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make sound decisions.
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
