Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Solutions Engineer II with deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions on GCP that meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative cloud services and strengthen our cloud infrastructure. Hands-on AWS experience is strongly preferred to support multi-cloud initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and Implementation: Develop GCP cloud architectures, including solutions for compute, storage, security, and networking, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaboration: Work alongside development, operations, and security teams to integrate systems and streamline processes.
• Troubleshooting: Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure and application issues across the GCP environment.
• Automation: Use scripts and infrastructure as code practices to automate deployment and management processes.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring tools to ensure system performance and optimize resource utilization and cost.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for cloud architectures, processes, and procedures.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of GCP product releases, industry trends, and emerging technologies to continuously improve cloud services.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related IT role, including significant hands-on GCP experience.
• Technical Skills:
◦ GCP (primary, required): Strong, demonstrable proficiency with Google Cloud Platform, including services such as Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Run, VPC networking, and IAM.
◦ AWS (strongly preferred): Hands-on AWS experience (for example EC2, S3, VPC, IAM) to support multi-cloud workloads.
◦ Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, with GKE preferred.
◦ CI/CD experience with tools such as Cloud Build, GitLab, or Jenkins.
◦ Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform or a comparable tool.
◦ Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Certifications (preferred):
◦ Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect (primary)
◦ Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer or other Google Cloud certifications
◦ AWS Certified Solutions Architect (a plus)
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
