Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer

We are revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era. This role builds and ships the full-stack software that turns that mission into working products—secure, observable, and used at global scale. You will own features from data model to UI so customers and internal teams get faster insight, safer connectivity, and measurable outcomes.

Performance Objectives

  • Ship production Rails features end-to-end within 90 days, covering models, APIs, and front-end flows.
  • Raise reliability of assigned services by reducing production incidents and mean time to recovery through tests, observability, and disciplined releases.
  • Deliver APIs and integrations that connect Rails apps to Cisco platforms, cloud services, and data stores with clear SLAs and backward compatibility.
  • Cut cycle time on a core workflow by automating manual steps and applying approved AI/tooling without sacrificing human accountability or data protection.
  • Partner with product, security, and CX stakeholders to translate priorities into roadmaps, then hit agreed milestones with transparent status and risk flags.
  • Leave the codebase stronger: refactor hotspots, add coverage, and document patterns so the next engineer can extend the system safely.

Environment & Resources

You will work on a cross-functional engineering team alongside product, design, security, and customer experience partners. You report to an engineering manager and use Ruby on Rails, modern JavaScript, PostgreSQL or equivalent, Git, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and approved AI and observability tools.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven delivery of production full-stack Rails applications (models, controllers/APIs, views or SPA front ends) with measurable quality and uptime outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs, relational data models, and integrations with external services under real traffic and change.
  • Ability to write tests, use CI/CD, and debug production issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical partners; you can turn ambiguity into a plan and a ship date.
  • Practical use of automation or AI-assisted workflows to improve speed or quality, with you remaining accountable for accuracy and security.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; comfort working in a large, matrixed technology organization.

Role Selling Points

  • Impact at global scale: your code supports how organizations connect, secure, and operate in the physical and digital worlds.
  • Depth of platform: networking, security, cloud, collaboration, and CX—plus a worldwide network of doers to learn from.
  • Experimentation with guardrails: ship meaningful software while using approved AI and automation to raise productivity.
  • Empathy-driven collaboration and room to grow inside a late-stage public company that has innovated for 40 years.
