Architecture professionals at CBS² contribute to projects from early programming and conceptual design through construction documentation and construction administration. Depending on experience, opportunities may include design, technical production, project coordination, client management, quality review, team development, and department leadership.


Our multidisciplinary structure gives architecture professionals the opportunity to collaborate directly with engineering, surveying, construction, and grant-writing teams while helping clients bring meaningful projects to life.


Potential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with or lead programming, planning, conceptual design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Prepare or review architectural drawings, specifications, renderings, models, and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate architectural work with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other project disciplines.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, public meetings, and project presentations.
  • Research and apply applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and design standards.
  • Support bidding, permitting, construction administration, and project closeout activities.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, and construction documentation.
  • Conduct site visits, field observations, and existing-condition documentation.
  • Assist with or lead project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and client communication.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control reviews.
  • Mentor designers and support team development.
  • Contribute to client relationships, proposals, business development, and department growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

We encourage architecture professionals at a variety of career levels to express interest. Relevant qualifications may include:

  • Education, training, or experience related to architecture, architectural technology, interior architecture, design, construction, or a related field.
  • Interest or experience in architectural design, technical production, project delivery, project management, client development, or leadership.
  • Strong design awareness, technical judgment, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Commitment to producing thoughtful, accurate, and high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Architectural licensure or interest in pursuing licensure when appropriate for the opportunity.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings when required.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with public, municipal, commercial, educational, industrial, or community-focused projects.
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, visualization software, or related tools.
  • Experience with building codes, accessibility standards, specifications, and construction administration.
  • Experience managing architectural projects, clients, budgets, schedules, or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Licensure in Wisconsin, Minnesota, or another applicable state.
  • Interest in mentoring, technical leadership, business development, or building an architecture practice.
